šŸ” Vivid Vision

I want to give you a super tactical 4-step process for more clearly defining your future (and share my personal vision for inspiration)....

Guys, I did something…

Together with my good buddy, Wyatt Skurski, we officially launched the You Da Man Community! Here are the facts:

  • It’s free

  • It’s valuable

  • It’s for dudes (sorry dudettes) who want more out of life and think it would be valuable to have meaningful conversation around their goals and future

Oh, and there’s only like 4 of us in there right now, but if you’re interested in being the 5th, go ahead and hit that button šŸ‘‡

If you have a bold enough vision, then it will work as a magnet: it will attract some and repel others.

Today’s edition is going to look a little different… I want to talk to you about your vision for the future.

More specifically, I want to give you a super tactical 4-step process for more clearly defining your future (and share my personal vision for inspiration):

Step 1: Picture it

10-Year Future Self Visualization —> I’ve mentioned this before, but I really can’t recommend it enough. Click on that link above, scroll down to ā€œFuture Self (Audio)ā€ and let Rich Fettke take you on a journey to meet your future self.

This is an easy and hopefully inspiring way to get started working toward your future.

If you weren’t excited about the future before this, then you will be afterwards.

Step 2: Read it

Vivid Vision by Cameron Herold —> This book provides a framework for you to define what it is you actually want in life, and then articulate that through a creative means.

If your vision only exists subconsciously in your head, then it’s nothing more than a dream or a wish or a hope.

And in the words of THE Stephanie Stallworth: ā€œHope is not a strategy.ā€

Read the book - it’s 170 tiny pages. You won’t regret it.

*BONUS: I have an extra copy. I’ll send it to the first person who 1) joins the You Da Man Community and 2) subscribe to my Youtube channel.

Step 3: Do it

Goal Set to the Now —> This is a process where you take your Vivid Vision and work backwards from your 5-year self to the present, creating a pyramid of S.M.A.R.T. goals that will get you there.

I know that seems daunting, but don’t overthink it.

If, in your Vivid Vision, you own a cabin in Alaska. Then all Goal Setting to the Now might look like is:

  • End of Year 5: Find and buy the cabin

  • End of Year 4: Have the money for the cabin

  • End of Year 3: Have 75% of the money for the cabin

  • End of Year 2: Have 50% of the money for the cabin

  • End of Year 1: Have 25% of the money for the cabin

Simple, right? That’s the idea. So simple that you’re going to look up five years from now and say ā€œWell no wonder I own the cabin! I checked all the boxes!ā€

Ideally you would have it mapped out with quarterly (3 month) goals for each of the five major areas of life - faith, family, fitness, finances, and future (self-improvement) - but keep it simple to start!

Step 4

Let me know if I can help! I love this. It’s what I do and I’m convinced it’s a major reason why God put me on this earth.

We’re going to learn, grow, and win TOGETHER!

I’m about to do a Youtube video on this where we talk exactly how to:

  • Get our vision from our head and onto paper

  • Set S.M.A.R.T. goals

  • Design our life so that achieving our goals is inevitable
